Tout le mois de septembre, Stefan Hoffmann a travaillé au YMCA Moncton afin de réaliser une œuvre se déployant sur diverses fenêtres du centre communautaire. L'œuvre terminée s'intitule «Take a Duvet Day» et est toujours en montre. Une partie de l'œuvre se trouve aussi sur le mur d'exposition de l'Atelier d'estampe Imago.
Through September, Stefan Hoffmann worked at the Moncton YMCA to produce a piece that occupies various windows throughout the building. The piece is called «Take a Duvet Day» and is currently presented. A related piece is also presented on the exhibition wall of the Imago Artist-run Print Studio.

Moncton Super Bingo, de/by Megan Morman
Pendant son séjour à Moncton pour la présentation de son exposition à la Galerie Sans Nom, Megan Morman a également pris part à jè-st' en distribuant des cartes à jeu «Moncton Super Bingo» sur les lieux du festival.
During her visit to Moncton to present en exhibition at Galerie Sans Nom, Megan Morman participated in jè-st' with a Moncton version of her Super Bingo project. The playing cards were distributed throughout the festival locations.

Ursula fait recours à une technique de vannerie pour tisser des fibres de bois sur des bénévoles qui s'identifient comme étant autochtones afin de porter un regard critique sur la Loi sur les Indiens. En démontrant que les bustes ont tous une apparence semblable, elle questionne la légitimité des différents définitions d'autochtones selon la loi et ceux qui l'ont crées.
Pour Ursula, il était important de présenter son oeuvre à la Faculté de droit parce qu'elle souhaite encourager une certaine conscience de la loi et ses effets sur les membre des Premières nations aux futurs avocats du Canada.
First Nations artist Ursula A. Johnson presented her piece L'nuwelti'k (We Are Indian) at the Law Faculty Library on the Université de Moncton campus as part of the jè-st' festival. Art fans also got a chance to see her artistic process at the opening of our own exhibit, Aboriginal Voices: Four Artists from Atlantic Canada, here at the Galerie d'art Louise-et-Reuben-Cohen.

It was important for Ursula to present her piece outside the Law Faculty because she wants to create awareness of the Indian Act and it's effect on the First Nations population to Canada's future lawers.

Last night Organ Mood, an artist collective from Montreal presented their piece Illuminations, which they call "an immersive environment for the advancement of humanity." They created their environment in the parking lot of Artisan Village where the sights and sounds entranced the audienced.

Jè-st un petit bonjour/Jè-st' sayin' hello
Le festival Jè-st' est de retour avec une nouvelle direction, ou plutôt une redirection. Le thème de l'édition 2013 est le détournement. Les artistes joueront et détourneront la fonction première d'éléments communs et familiers.
Jè-st' is back again with a new direction, or rather a redirection. The artists will toy with the primary function of common and familiar items in the context of this year's theme; "détournement", meaning redirection.
Faites un détour de votre vie quotidien avec nous du 25 au 28 septembre. Des activités parallèles s'offrent à vous tout le mois de septembre.
Redirect yourself to broaden your horizons from September 25th to the 28th. There are also some parallel activities to be enjoyed throughout the month.

Le collectif BGL, qui est composé de trois artistes provenant de la ville de Québec, nous propose une œuvre intitulé «La manège». BGL est un collectif qui se sert d'images simples et familières pour jetter un regard évocateur sur la société. Selon BGL «...pour amener les gens à porter un regard différent sur l’environnement dans lequel ils évoluent tous les jours, nous croyons qu’il faut partir du quotidien, du tangible. Cependant, le but de nos installations n’est pas de reproduire les objets tels quels mais bien de créer un écart qui invite à la contemplation et à une prise de conscience.»

L’artiste allemand Stefan Hoffmann vit et travaille à Rotterdam aux Pays-Bas. Hoffmann se sert d’une technique de sérigraphie verticale pour des projets in situ utilisant des éléments graphiques existants. Pour Hoffmann, ce processus cherche une réponse visuelle à certaines préoccupations sociales et politiques.
Pour son projet de résidence à l’atelier d’estampe Imago dans le cadre de jè-st’ 2013, Hoffmann va intervenir sur les vitrines du YMCA et sur les murs du premier étage du Centre culturel Aberdeen. Le public pourra suivre son cheminement à partir du 16 septembre.
German born artist Stefan Hoffmann lives and works in Rotterdam, Netherlands.Hoffmann uses vertical screen printing to create site-specific projects based on existing graphic material. His process looks for visual answers to specific social and political issues. The process of selecting and organizing elements, burning screens, and finally printing on walls and windows generally takes several weeks to complete and can be followed by the public as of September 16.
For jès-t’ 2013, Hoffmann will be in residence at Imago, an artist run print studio and will be working on the large windows of the YMCA building and on the walls of the Aberdeen Cultural Centre.

Organ Mood est un collectif d'artistes visuels et sonores de Montréal; ses membres sont Christophe Lamarche et Mathieu Jacques. Depuis 2008, ils essayent de transformerla notion d'auditoire, en favorisant une plus grande interaction avec leur public. Leurs outils sont les synthétiseurs analogiques, les rétroprojecteurs et des instruments de leur cru, tous reliés électroniquement, qu’ils partageront avec l'auditoire.
Ils nous présentent une oeuvre intitulée "Illuminations". Illuminations est une performance extérieure,pendant laquelle Organ Mood occupe l'espace du stationnement du Artisan Village et le transforme en un environnement rayonnant, dans lequel le public est invité à se plonger.
Illuminations is an outdoor performance during which Organ Mood inhabits the space of the Artisan Village parking lot and transforms it into a glowing environment, into which the public is invited to plunge.

Pendant ce temps, il travaillera avec le YMCA et le Centre culturel Aberdeen pour réaliser un projet d’impression verticale sur les fenêtres et les murs. Hoffmann donnera un atelier suivant cette démarche à Imago le samedi 5 octobre et le dimanche 6 octobre de 13 h à 17 h. Veuillez vous inscrire au 388-1431. L’artiste donnera galement une présentation publique de son travail à Imago le mercredi 2 octobre, à 17 h 30. Cette présentation est gratuite et ouverte à tous.

In the performance, L’nuwelti’k (We are Indian), Johnson memorializes various Indian Registration and Membership Codes with participation from select persons whovolunteer and, according to which code they identified with (Status, Non-Status, “Halfbreed”, etc.), explores the correlation of identity associated with these numbers.
Ursula Johnson holds a BFA (2006) from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, and has studied Theatre at Cape Breton University.

Megan Morman propose un jeu de bingo « style voyage » directement lié à la ville de Moncton, qui encourage l'exploration publique de l'environnement que constitue la ville. Avec l'aide d'une série de cartes bingo particulière aux communautés environnantes, Super Bingo crée une prise de conscience des modèles de développement urbain,
'accès aux ressources et aux commodités dans la région.
Morman est une artiste multidisciplinaire originaire du Minnesota, résidant maintenant à Lethbridge, en Alberta.
Megan Morman presents a regionally-specific version of a classic “road trip bingo” game that encourages public exploration of Moncton’s constructed environment. Through a set of bingo cards designed specifically for the surrounding communities,
uper Bingo creates awareness for patterns of urban development, and access to
esources and amenities in the region.
Originally from Minnesota, Morman is a multidisciplinary artist now based in Lethbridge, Alberta.
